Deep Cleansing Facial
A deep cleansing facial with a skin assessment first, in central Lisbon.
A professional skin cleansing is the foundation of any facial care routine. It removes the impurities, dead cells, excess sebum and blackheads that build up day after day and that no home routine fully clears.
At Glow Esthetic, in Lisbon, every cleansing facial starts with a look at your skin. The protocol — products, steam time, how much extraction — is adjusted to your skin type and its current state, because oily skin and sensitive skin do not need the same care.
What a cleansing facial helps with
- Visibly cleaner, less congested pores
- Fewer blackheads and comedones
- Smoother texture and a brighter look
- Better absorption of the products you use at home
- Skin that is ready for more targeted facial treatments
What happens in the session
- Skin assessment and a chat about your routine and concerns.
- Make-up removal and a deep cleanse suited to your skin type.
- Gentle exfoliation to lift dead surface cells.
- Steam and careful extraction of comedones, never aggressive.
- A soothing or purifying mask, depending on how the skin responds.
- Final hydration and suitable protection.
Who it is for
Almost every skin type, with the protocol adjusted. It is especially useful for oily or congestion-prone skin and for anyone who has never had a deep cleanse. Very reactive skin or skin with active inflammation gets a gentler, sometimes staged approach.
What makes a deep cleanse different
Daily cleansing at home removes surface dirt. A professional deep cleanse goes further: steam softens what is inside the pores, extraction is done with professional technique and hygiene, and products are chosen after looking at your skin up close.
That is also why a professional cleanse should never be harsh. The aim is to unclog without injuring the skin, so it recovers quickly and is not left marked.
Aftercare in the following days
- Skip make-up for the first few hours so the skin can breathe.
- Wear sunscreen every day, even when it is cloudy.
- Avoid scrubs and acids for two or three days.
- Do not touch or squeeze the skin while it recovers.
- Keep up the hydration recommended for your skin type.

Questions about Deep Cleansing Facial
It depends on your skin. For oily or acne-prone skin, every 4 to 6 weeks usually makes sense; for normal or dry skin, every 2 or 3 months. We suggest the right interval for you at the first assessment.
Some mild redness in the following hours is normal, especially after extraction, and it usually fades the same day. That is why we suggest not booking it on the day of an important event.
Ideally not for the first few hours, so the skin can breathe and recover. You can return to your normal routine the next day.
The session lasts about 60 minutes. On your first visit we start by assessing your skin so the protocol fits your case.
It should not. Extraction can be slightly uncomfortable, but it is done carefully and adjusted to how sensitive your skin is. If anything hurts, we ease off.
Yes. Your skin is more sensitive to the sun for a few days afterwards, so daily sunscreen is essential. If you have a beach holiday coming up, it is better to book a few days before or after strong sun exposure.
