Acne Treatment

An ongoing protocol to control oiliness and improve skin texture.

Acne Treatment at Glow Esthetic, Lisbon

Acne rarely clears with a one-off session. It responds to steady work on oiliness, clogged pores and inflammation, combined with a consistent routine at home.

At Glow Esthetic, in Lisbon, we start by understanding the picture: how long it has lasted, what you have already tried, which products you use, and whether there is a hormonal or stress pattern. Only then is the protocol defined.

Goals of the programme

  • Control of excess oil
  • Fewer clogged pores and comedones
  • Less inflamed-looking blemishes
  • More even skin texture over time
  • A realistic home routine that suits your skin

How the programme works

  1. Detailed skin assessment and history.
  2. A staged protocol with spaced sessions.
  3. Cleansing and controlled extraction, when the skin allows it.
  4. Sebum-regulating and calming actives adapted to each stage.
  5. Guidance on your home routine and on sun protection.
  6. Regular reassessment to adjust the protocol.

An important note

Aesthetic treatment works on the skin and complements — it does not replace — medical care. With moderate to severe acne, deep inflamed lesions or a risk of scarring, referral to a dermatologist is part of our job and will always be recommended.

Questions about Acne Treatment

It varies a lot with the type of acne and how consistent the home routine is. It usually means a programme over several months, with reassessments. Be wary of anyone promising results in one session.

Not inflamed ones. Forcing extraction makes inflammation worse and raises the risk of marks. We calm the inflammation first and only extract when the skin allows it.

Pigmented marks and uneven texture are treated, but with other protocols and at a later stage. Active acne is stabilised first; only then does it make sense to treat what it left behind.
