Pressotherapy

Controlled, sequential air pressure to stimulate circulation and relieve swelling.

Pressotherapy at Glow Esthetic, Lisbon

Pressotherapy uses inflatable boots that apply air pressure in sequence, from the extremities towards the centre of the body, mimicking the natural direction of lymphatic and venous circulation.

It is one of the most comfortable treatments we offer: you lie down, the boots do the work, and the feeling of lighter legs is usually noticeable from the first session. It works particularly well combined with sculpting massage or manual drainage.

What pressotherapy helps with

  • Lighter-feeling legs, even at the end of the day
  • Less swelling and fluid retention
  • Stimulation of return circulation
  • Support for the body's natural elimination
  • An effective complement to sculpting massage

What happens in the session

  1. Check for circulatory contraindications.
  2. Fitting the boots and setting the pressure programme.
  3. A resting session with sequential, rhythmic pressure.
  4. Intensity adjusted to your comfort.
  5. Advice on hydration after the session.

Contraindications we check

Pressotherapy is not suitable with thrombosis or suspected thrombosis, uncontrolled heart failure, an active infection in the area to be treated, or pregnancy without medical advice. The prior assessment exists precisely to rule these out.

Questions about Pressotherapy

Yes, and it is one of the combinations we recommend most: the massage works the tissues mechanically and pressotherapy supports elimination.
